Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on July 8, 1989 in Paris. After relocating to Oxfordshire around the age of five, she enrolled in The Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma was aware that she wanted to be an actress and for a number of years she studied at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied performing and singing. By the time she turned 10, she had already taken part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. In 1999 casting began in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through eight consecutive auditions. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's first cinematic screen appearance. It was the year's top earning film, smashing records during the opening day and the very first weekend. Critics have praised both the film and the performances by the three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British newspaper, called Emma's performances "amazing". Emma's performance received nominations and was awarded five awards for the movie.
